Wow! What a great weekend of events. I'm exhausted! I want to thank all the fans, the sponsors and the competitors that made this weekend the best in bodybuilding! I also want to thank all the doubters that thought I couldn't win my third Sandow. It definitely helped fuel my fire every day in the gym. I also want to thank everyone that helped me prepare for the show. These things don't happen without the help and support of family and friends. I am going to enjoy this victory and see what happens next.
Last night reminded me of why I love the sport of bodybuilding so much...THE FANS. I want to personally thank all the fans that came to the press conference and the "Meet the Olympians" event last night. The turnout was unbelievable. It's because of you that I get to pursue something I truly love, the Sport of Bodybuilding. Now it is Showtime. I feel I am in the best shape of my life and only have to wait a few more hours now to reveal my new physique. It should be one of the most exciting shows in Olympia history. See you tonight at the pre judging!
Finished my 2 day shoot and all went great. I had alot of fun shooting with Kevin Horton who is an outstanding photographer. I usually don't do photo shoots when I'm in my carb depleting phase since this is when I look the worst but this time it's all a little different working with George really showed me that it is possible for me to look like I usually do a few weeks out from a show. Even being depleted with less than 70g of carbs a day for 5 days I'm still somewhat big and full and from now on it's just a matter of putting a bit of carbs back in starting tomorrow and dropping some water which I will totallly leave up to George. He proved to me a few times this year that he knows how to get me in shape and dial me in the final days before the show.
I feel ready and I really can't wait to display my physique come Friday and Saturday. I will post a sneak peak for you the fans to see what DJ is bringing to Vegas
That's what a friend of mine told me. The O is right around the corner and everything couldn't get any better.
Can't wait to step on stage and show my fans and the entire world the new Toney Freeman. At this time last year i
felt good, this year i feel even better.
The D.O.A. to me, represents all the past shows I've done and how each and every one of them helped me get to where I'm at today.... this years Olympia, one for the history books the whole build of it,
today I finished the first of my 2 day photo shoot for flex magazine. Kevin Horton arrived here in Phoenix last night and after a great dinner that my wife prepared for him and his wife we all sat together an watched the UFC fights on my 145"screen.
Then this morning it was off to the gym where I trained Chest and Biceps and Kevin took pictues as it happend. Kevin knows me since 2000 and he told me that this is the best, biggest and hardest he has ever seen me this close to a show kind of like my 2 weeks out pics in the past. I'm depleting since Friday and I will probably stay on low carbs til Wednesday before I put higher carbs back in my system.
I feel and look like I'm at my best and I'm sure it can only get better come Friday night prejudging. We will shoot again tomorrow and then I will get everything ready to drive to Vegas early Wednesday morning
Stay tuned for more updates from now all the way up to Saturday night.
Six day's away and I am making my final preparations to get back the title. My team is assembling this week in Vegas and it should be an exciting week. My heavy workouts are over now and I am just touching things up as I start increasing carbs and filling out for the show. I want to thank the fans for all there support and hope you enjoy the show as well as the expo. Here is the last heavy leg workout before the competition. It was done on Thursday the 17th. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9UpeA3fe9c&feature=channel_page
Desire - feel or have a desire for; want strongly. Believe - accept as true; take to be true.
I can feel the Vegas heat. The 2009 Mr. Olympia. Like we all know this years O will be one for the ages. I feel blessed and privileged to be part of something of this magnitude.
The following words have a great meaning in my life, Blood, Sweat, Tearsâ¦Conceive, Believe, Achieve and Desire. I think about these words on a daily basis because it reminds me of how larger than life this sport really is, how careful we have to be in order to look almost perfect on one night, itâs truly a one of kind feeling. For me itâs all about Desire and the Belief that you put out into all this. The eating, training, the cardio sessions, everything. You got to believe this years O. is going to be incredible, so will I.
I Desire that Sandow and I Believe Iâm going to Achieve it.
Thank you to all my fans for the support I feel goodâ¦No, waitâ¦I feel great at this point, I decided to give you the fans a little opportunity to see how the X-man is evolving bigger than ever, I donât want to give too much away but I believe that the we are here for the fans, so for all the fans hereâs my latest video, watch new NEVER BEFORE SEEN FOOTAGE at the end⦠See if you catch me in there, watching the flex blog⦠Told you all, itâs all me baby!!!
Ill keep posting videos as the days drop down come Olympia time!
"I've been waiting for this moment, all my life, oh lord" -Phil Collins
I'm training for the biggest moment of my life...a dream I never though possible, until last year! I have been blessed to start my pro career competing with some of the best bodybuilders in history, Flex Wheeler and Chris Cormier to name a few. This year's line-up will definitely go down as one of the best in history and I'm honored to be competing with some of the best to defend my title. I'm in the final days of feeling tired and ready to get it over with, I can't believe how fast time has passed! I am excited that my family will be there and my closest friends. I want to take this moment to thank all my fans for their support and all the emails wishing me good luck. I am focused and feeling good. Taking a year off has allowed my body to respond great to my preparation this year. I've also made sure to stay on top of injury prevention like always and get my massages twice a week and weekly adjustments. It's amazing what preventative care can do. I always arrive in Vegas a week early to be able to relax and stay focused. It's nice to have time to myself amidst the madness!
Well, that is it for now. Like Phil Collins sang, "I've been waiting for this moment all my life"! But I prefer the remix with Tupac! LOL!
less than 2 weeks to go and I can already see that I'm better than I was the previous 4 shows I already did this year.
It seems that George knows my body better than I know myself, where I would've dropped some more carbs already he tells me to keep them in for now and and after sending him pictures from 2 days ago he tells me to drop the cardio to only one 20 minute session a day.
I feel so good that it's almost scaring me a bit cause I usually never feel this energetic so close to a show but I guess thats just the way it is if you do everything right.
I will do my Flex photo shoots this coming next Sunday and Monday right here in Phoenix, Arizona at Fitness1 gym on Union Hills and 35th Ave. I'm glad the flex staff is sending Kevin Horton out here to shoot me so I don't have to travel this close to the Olympia.
I decided to drive into Vegas very early Wednesday morning so I have enough time to check in and do some groccerie shopping before all the interviews and athletes meetings.
I am really looking forward to the show and believe me when I say this but you will be in for a treat!!!!!
Congrats to Gustavo Badell and James Lewis for winning the Atlantic City pro show last night!!!
About two weeks from today Iâll be on stage at the O, and Iâm still 295-296
pounds. Felt like I got hit by a car when I woke up this morning because of
all the stuff we did at the FLEX photo shoot yesterday â but it was worth it
because we got some really cool stuff. We ended up doing traps, back,
shoulders, biâs and triâs, and today we did quads, hams, glutes and abs.
Thatâs a lot of work!
So Iâm going to fly home tonight, wake up in the morning at 6 a.m. and get
back on the stairmill. Weâre also going to tighten the diet to straight fish
and veggies, potatoes and rice, fish and greens -- and water. Carbs will be
Two weeks out and Iâm 296 pounds. Looking forward to going home and
buckling down. This is where I want to be right now. In my wildest fantasy I
was in the 290s heading into the Olympia, and Iâm on par to do that. Still
donât know if it will happen or not. Iâve been trying to be 290 for the past
two and a half years. Something always goes wrong at the end. I havenât been
in the 290s this far out though. 288 is the heaviest Iâve been. Iâve only
eating twice today right now, so really Iâm two meals away from 300
Mentally, Iâve never been this focused. I donât want to sound crazy, but in
all honesty, this is the first year Iâve been a bodybuilder 100 percent. Iâm
blessed genetically. I will admit that as far as being lean goes. Iâm not
talking about contest. Iâm talking about walking around â itâs not that hard
for me to keep a decent amount of body fat and Iâve used that as a crutch in
the past. This year, I didnât bank on my genetics. I did the work. I ate the
meals. I did the cardio. I lifted the weights. The results speak for
I literally started my diet (my diet-diet) on August 15, and thatâs not even
been a month yet. I started preparing for the Olympia on July 15, but the
first four weeks I was eating whatever. Iâm in my fifth week of hardcore
dieting. Normally us pros diet 10-12 weeks. Iâm not worn out. Iâm eating
more than 3,000 calories per day and 4,000 on high days. Iâm not hungry, but
Iâm hungry for the Olympia.
*Editors' note: There was an error in this entry that has been corrected but should be noted. Toney had only eaten twice at that point in the day, and a typo stated he was only eating two meals per day. That is erroneous. Toney eats every two to three hours.
Hey everybody! Just wanted to give you an update on my progress. I am currently in the middle of a two day shoot with Muscletech. We shot back training at Gold's yesterday, and as usual, it was a tough workout. I am getting drier by the day as I cut back a little on some of my salt intake. I am now seeing what I am going to look like on stage in just over two weeks. The fans will see a much improved Jay Cutler as my waist has gotten smaller which makes my back and legs appear to be larger. It will be an interesting show and I am excited to be part of it. Check out some of my new clothing and video's available at jaycutler.com. I have a new shirt that I will be unveiling at the Olympia. I'd like to thank the fans for all the support they have given over the years. It truly keeps me going!
Hoping all bodybuilding fans had a great Labor Day weekend. My Labor Day was another day at the office, training hard staying focused at all times no matter what day it is. My body's certainly changing. Get ready to see an X-man like never before.
To all my fans...I know the big buzz going around FLEX and other different bodybuilding communities around the web about The new Toney Freeman's videos.
I 've gotten phone calls, emails everything, it's crazy, in the greatest way, thank you all for the kind words. All these videos are being showed for one reason only, this year it's all about No More Mr. Nice Guy. Remember those words fellow Olympian's. We can all be cool after this show.
I will say this...I want each and every one of you, to keep checking this FLEX blog everyday...I will keep posting some NEW and Official X-man videos, you will not believe your eyes.
Keep eyes and ears wide open, X gonna give it to you...Check the new video only here on the FLEX Blog.
Like everyone else, I just did my 2-day photo and video shoot with Flex. I feel good right now. I spent the holiday weekend with my family. Because of my Olympia prep, I couldn't stay long, but it was great to see everyone. I'm eating, sleeping, training and watching football. I've been a Cowboy and FSU fan forever! I'll be seeing Joe again this weekend, and I'm beginning to get things together for my trip out to Vegas! Even though the weather in Florida is slowly cooling down, things are starting to heat up and will be hot on stage in another 3 weeks with one of the best line-ups in Olympia history! I do not have a facebook or myspace account, even though someone is claiming to be me on both of them! LOL! However, I finally signed onto Twitter and you can follow me @blade01222. I'm still getting the hang of it! So give me a shout out and I'll try to twit a lil bit for all you fans while in Vegas! Time for cardio so peace out!
Yes it's exactly 3 weeks out from Friday evening prejudging where I think it will all come down to.
I am super focused and 100% certain that I will bring my best ever package to Vegas. I am real close to the contest shape I want to present this time and even with the lower carbs now I'm still thick and full as a house lol.
I am really looking forward to this years Mr.Olympia cause just to be on that stage with all these guys is an honor and from what I see and read, everybody is going to bring their A-game. I thought last year almost everybody was bringing it but with some of the additions this year I'm sure that if you come in less than 100% you will not get the call outs you looking for.
I wish all my fellow competitors a injury free final 3 weeks and all the best to each one of you.
I think it's great that some of you guys take some time out of your busy schedules and post some info for the fans to see here on flexonline.com what's going on and in the end that is what counts the fans!!
We will make history this year with the most exciting Olympia ever and I'm glad I can be a part of it.
At the three week out point now and I am in the middle of a two-day FLEX Magazine photoshoot. We did chest and triceps yesterday and it was an extremely tough workout. Back to the gym today for the leg portion of the shoot. You will be able to see the results of the shoot soon in FLEX Magazine. I am making improvements every day and will be unveiling it all at The Olympia three weeks from today.
Well, it is now 3 wks before the Olympia and I am definitely excited! My trainer/friend Hany Rambod paid me a visit last weekend to ensure that we bring forth the new and improved Gift 2.0. He and I went back and forth with everything from diet, training to supplements and boy has it made a difference in my physique. I've gone from 260lbs down to the low 250s which has allowed me to see even more detailed conditioning in my glutes and hams oh and calves lol! Right now I am staying in contact with Hany at least 3 times per day to ensure that everything is working perfectly. My biggest improvement so far has been my upper body, but now as my cardio has increased, my hams have more hang to them then ever which shall hopefully pay dividends come showtime. I am currently about to train quads and later hams and calves at Armbrust Pro Gym and even with taking in around 120-140g of carbs per day, my intensity will be great!
I have already began using my new infrared sauna and that has helped with thinning out my skin even more than before while not reducing fullness. I have also been tanning more so that I won't have to use so many coats of tanning solution, as it really made me hot on the Saturday night. I'm relaunching my website www.phillipheath.com within the next few days and it will have more to it than ever before with news, downloadable wallpaper, videos, pics and merchandise. I just got a knock on the door and it was the USPS man delivering my last item of my limited edition Phil Heath drawings. I have 3 different prints of custom drawings that are all individually number 1-200 for a total of 600 prints that will never be issued again. They will also appear for sale on my new site once launch real soon along with my new t-shirts, long sleeves, hats=, tank tops and even some baby t's for the ladies!
I'll be seeing Hany along with the Flex crew next week as we will be filming a new photo shoot. I hope to get some of the uncut material for my new dvd so the fans can see some more lifestyle stuff.
Had my appearance on probodybuildingweekly this past Monday night with Dan, Bob and Larry Pepe and I had a blast answering their questions. I really enjoy being able to participate in such discussions as it allows me to remember my purpose in my preparations for the Olympia, but also life. I try and enjoy every moment of this as it has gone by so fast that one day I'll blink and it will be all over. Hopefully, I will have left a good mark on this great sport and with its fans, so I thank my sponsors along with PBW for giving me a voice, even for talking a lil' trash lol!
Other than that, I am excited that we all get to battle soon and see who the CHAMP really is. It isn't about smack talk anymore, as its all about taking care of my business, to be Mr. Olympia!
Have a great Labor Day Weekend and eat some brats and drink something in a red cup for me too lol!
I want to thank all the fans for there support and motivational words during this contest prep. I have a solid team in place with Kerry (my wife) and my training partners. They have helped tremendously and I feel I am in the best shape I can be in just over 3 weeks out. I already have my routine down and have some great music this year. Training couldn't be better. I am in a good groove with my cardio and am eating a ton of fish every day. Now wonder I never eat fish (other than sushi) in the off-season. Looking forward to the "O" and seeing all the fans at the most exciting weekend in bodybuilding!
